Micro-teaching is a teaching improvement technique where a teacher prepares and delivers a short piece of teaching to an audience of peers. This will provide all teachers with an opportunity to observe and make comments on the lesson.

The teaching could be videotaped so the teacher can discuss what they did and why during the feedback. This could be a useful technique to use in a Department Training session. Micro teaching sessions could be 15 minute or even 5 minutes long. The session  could focus on how to develop particular teaching styles or techniques or even particular concepts.
